Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On December 9, 2015 Deputies responded to 127 Carolwoods Drive, Mooresville, in reference to a domestic dispute. Rex Leroy Locke was charged for Interfering with Emergency Communications, Second Degree Trespassing, and Assault on a Female.
The case was then forwarded to Det. Sgt. Katie Harwell of the Special Victims Unit. After further investigation into the incident, Detective Harwell charged Locke with Second Degree Burglary and Habitual Misdemeanor Assault.
For all of the above charges Locke was given a total bond of $80,000.00
With the domestic charges Locke was given Pretrial Release Conditions by the Judge stating that he was to have no contact of any kind with the victim by any means. (Phone, mail, fax, text, third party direct or indirect, gift giving, or social media.)
On January 21, 2016 Det. Sgt. K. Harwell discovered that Locke had been secretly using other inmates pin numbers to make phone calls to the victim from the Iredell County Jail. These phone calls were a violation of his Pretrial Release Conditions.
Locke was given an added $90,000.00 for the violation making his bond $170,000.00 in total. Locke is still in Iredell County Jail awaiting his trial.
