That on November 7th 2015 Deputy B.A. Henderson responded to 573 Sharon School Rd. in reference to a Domestic Dispute. Upon Deputy Henderson’s arrival he spotted the victim exit a vehicle with blood on his face. Case was there and exited the passenger side of the vehicle. Melissa and her boyfriend had been in a verbal argument that escalated into her punching the victim in the head with a closed fist causing a laceration above his eye. After investigating the incident Deputy B.A. Henderson arrested Case and took her before a Magistrate at the Iredell County Jail where she was given a $1000.00 secured bond.
The case was then forwarded to Det. Sgt. Katie Harwell of the Special Victims Unit. Upon further investigation Det. Harwell discovered that Case had been convicted on two separate occasions in the past 15 years. Due to this being the third offense in the past 15 years and the assault resulted in an injury, this made Case eligible for (Felony) Habitual Misdemeanor Assault. Det. Harwell obtained a warrant on Case for the Habitual Misdemeanor Assault. Case was arrested on December 15th 2015 and taken back before a Magistrate at the Iredell County Jail. Case received a bond of $10,000.00.
