Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On Friday December 4, 2015 a member of the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Interstate Criminal Enforcement (ICE) Team stopped a 2014 Toyota Camry operated by Antwaine Darron Morrison on Interstate 77 for a motor vehicle infraction.
After approaching the car and smelling a very strong odor of marijuana, the deputy gained consent to search the car. The search located a black canvas bag. Inside this bag was 8.4 ounces of marijuana which had been vacuumed sealed in a large plastic bag. Additional marijuana and paraphernalia was also located in the passenger area of the car.
As a result of this stop, Antwaine Darron Morrison of 422 New River Drive, Jacksonville North Carolina was charged with one count each of Felony Possession of Marijuana, Maintaining a Vehicle or Dwelling for the Sale of Controlled Substances, Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Morrison was taken to the Iredell County Detention Center and was placed under 15,000.00 dollars secured bond.
