Sheriff Darren Campbell stated on 11/2/2015, deputies with the Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Team (ACE) responded to a residence after receiving information that Matthew Franklin Ward of 295 Bradley Farm Rd. was selling marijuana. On 11/02/2015 Sgt.’s R.T. Sherrill and C.W. Bentley responded to the residence where they met with Ward. Upon entering the residence, deputies detected the overwhelming odor of marijuana. During a search deputies located approximately 50 grams of marijuana, as well as, multiple items of drug paraphernalia in Ward’s bedroom. Ward was then arrested for felony possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell/deliver marijuana, maintaining a dwelling for the sale of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Ward was transported to the Iredell County Detention Center where he received a $7,500.00 secured bond. Ward is a convicted felon and was already out on bond for crimes including hit and run, driving while impaired and careless and reckless driving. Ward has a Statesville District Court Date of December 7th, 2015.
