[ARCHIVED] Registered sex offender arrested for 8 counts Statutory Rape/Sex Offense

Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On June 15, 2015 the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office received a report of the sexual abuse of a 13 year old female child by a family member, Carl Franklin Riddle. The victim stated the abuse occurred in 2010 at a family member’s home in Eastern Iredell County during times when the victim and Riddle were visiting the same family member.
After numerous interviews and further investigation, Det. Sgt. Mike Benfield obtained eight warrants for Riddle for Statutory Rape/Sex Offense.
Carl Riddle is currently a registered Sex Offender in Rowan County. He has been on the registry since 2005 for a conviction of Indecent Liberties with a Minor in Rowan County.
Riddle was arrested September 28, 2015 and is currently in the Iredell County Detention Center under a $350,000.00 bond.
