Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On Monday, September 26, 2022, a report was filed with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office in regards to numerous catalytic converters having been removed from vehicles parked at a business on Old Mocksville Road just outside of the city limits of Statesville.
Detective R. Vargas with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division was assigned to the investigation. Detectives interviewed witnesses in the area and conducted surveillance of the business.
On Thursday, October 27, 2022, detectives, through the use of surveillance equipment, were able to identify a suspect vehicle as a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. The truck was captured on surveillance leaving the business in the early morning hours at a high rate of speed
Based on this surveillance footage, Detective Vargas also identified Adam Steven High from Harmony as the suspect observed driving the vehicle. Based on this video and other information gathered through this investigation, Detective Vargas was able to obtain 25 felony arrest warrants on Adam Steven High. High was entered as a Wanted Person.
On Tuesday, January 10, 2023, members of the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team located Adam High and arrested him without incident.
Detective Vargas conducted an interview with Adam High and obtained additional evidence in this case.
Adam High was taken before Magistrate T. Thompson, who placed High under a 75,000.00 dollar secured bond.
