Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On Wednesday, December 7, 2022, several patrol deputies were attempting to locate a suspect wanted by Troutman Police for an armed robbery which occurred the day prior at a convenience store. Information was obtained that the wanted fugitive, Ibrahim Jalloh, may have a child at Lake Shore Elementary School. School Resource Officer, Deputy B. Whitlow was able to confirm that the suspect may be en route for school dismissal. Due to his dangerous history and ten outstanding warrants, which included felony robbery with a dangerous weapon and felony larceny, patrol deputies staged prior to the entrance of the school. The gray Lexus that was known to be the suspect’s vehicle was located on Perth Road, and Deputies conducted a stop of that vehicle near Wilson Lake Road. The driver of the vehicle gave false information but was determined to be Ibrahim Jalloh. The passenger of the vehicle was identified as Michael Terrance Calvin, 39 Years Old, from Charlotte.
Deputies searched the vehicle and located an AR-style pistol with a fully loaded 10-round magazine, over 18 grams of Cocaine, Percocet, Marijuana, and Drug Paraphernalia.
Ibrahim Jalloh was arrested and taken before Magistrate Imes, who issued a 428,500.00 dollars secured bond. The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office charges included Felony Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Felony Possession of Cocaine, Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver, as well as other drug charges. In addition to the Felony Robbery with a dangerous weapon charge from Troutman Police Department, Ibrahim Jalloh had numerous outstanding felony warrants from Wake County as well as Mecklenburg County for felony charges that included felony larceny and the felonious removal of anti-theft devices.
The passenger, Michael Calvin, appeared before Magistrate Imes and was issued a 10,000.00 dollars secured bond on the charges from the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office. Those charges included the Felony Possession of Cocaine, Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver, along with several other drug charges.
Sheriff Darren Campbell added, “due to the nature of the charges and the wanted status of this person, Patrol Deputies working with the School Resource Deputy assigned at that Elementary School did a great job in a short amount of time to minimize any threat to staff or students and arrest the suspect before getting onto the school grounds.”
