Online application for the Deputy Sheriff Candidate program is open now until November 9th.
Qualified applicants who meet the requirements will be hired as an employee with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office and receive a salary with benefits while attending BLET at Mitchell Community College.
Once chosen to go further in the application process, a candidate will complete the Police Officers Physical Agility Test (POPAT), show competency with a firearm, and undergo a
background and drug screening. Upon graduating Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET), the employee may qualify for additional benefits such as Shift Differential or take-home patrol vehicle, depending on their assignment.
