[ARCHIVED] High Bond Issued to Suspect That Used a Machete to Assault Homeowner

NEWS RELEASE

Date/Time of Offense: Friday, October 29, 2022.

 

Offense(s)/Charge(s): Felony Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon

                                      Four Counts of Felony Second-Degree Kidnapping 

                                      Misdemeanor Assault with a Deadly Weapon

 

Location of Incident: 138 Big Forest Drive, Statesville.

 

Suspect(s): Antonio Noda Delgado, 51 Years Old

                   855 Elmwood Road

                   Statesville, North Carolina 28625 

       

Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On Friday, October 29, 2022, Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Deputies responded to 100-block of Big Forest Drive in reference a 911 open line where a fight could be heard occurring on the line with a disturbance in the background.

 

Deputies responded to the area to locate where the disturbance was occurring. The deputies identified the address of the disturbance as 138 Big Forest Drive. 

 

During the investigation, the deputies interviewed multiple victims located inside the residence. Based on the information received, the suspect, Antonio Noda Delgado, entered the residence’s front door. Delgado then assaulted a male victim in the home with a machete and then pulled a knife demanding the other victims to sit on the floor. The suspect stole items from the residence. Delgado then fled in a vehicle as deputies attempted to locate the residence. It was also determined that the victims were familiar with the suspect.       

 

Based on victim statements and physical evidence gathered during the investigation, Sergeant C. Little took out Felony Arrest Warrants for Antonio Noda Delgado. 

 

Deputies searched for Delgado. They located him and arrested Delgado without further incident. Delgado was transported to the Iredell County Detention Center, where he was served with the following warrants: Felony Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Four Counts of Felony Second-Degree Kidnapping, and Misdemeanor Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Antonio Delgado appeared before Magistrate T. Thompson, who issued a 400,000.00 dollars secured bond on those charges.

BOND: 400,000.00 DOLLARS SECURED BOND.

 

Criminal history: Misdemeanor Resisting Public Officer, DWI Level 5, several driving charges.
