                                      Felony Maintain a Vehicle of the Use or Sale of a Controlled Substance

                                      Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver a Schedule IV 

                                      Controlled Substance

                                      Felony Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon

                                      Misdemeanor Carry a Concealed Weapon

                                      Misdemeanor Driving While License Revoked

 

Location of Incident: 592 River Highway, Mooresville.

 

Suspect(s): Brodrick Lamont Speas, 31 Years Old

                    3930 Whitfield Drive

                    Winston Salem, North Carolina 27105

 

Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On Friday, September 16, 2022, Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Lieutenant J. Younts was patrolling in the area of Williamson Road and River Highway when he received information about a stolen motor vehicle traveling west on West Plaza Drive at Interstate 77. 

 

Lieutenant J. Younts was looking for the vehicle when he saw it traveling west on River Highway. Lieutenant Younts conducted a traffic stop on the stolen vehicle in the parking lot of a business located at 592 River Highway.

 

The driver was identified Brodrick Lamont Speas. He was taken into custody and arrested for possession of the stolen motor vehicle. 

 

Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Deputies N. Hodges and S. Rowe responded to assist with the investigation. The deputies searched the vehicle and located five pounds of Marijuana, 10 grams of Fentanyl, 20 grams of Cocaine, 30 Dosage Units of Xanax, and a loaded Handgun.

 

Brodrick Lamont Speas was taken to the Iredell County Detention Center, where he was charged with: Felony Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Felony Trafficking of Opium or Heroin by Transport, Felony Trafficking of Opium or Heroin by Possession, Felony Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine, Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Marijuana, Felony maintain Vehicle, Dwelling, or Place for the Sale or Use of a Controlled Substance, Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver a Schedule IV Controlled Substance, Felony Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Misdemeanor Carry a Concealed Weapon, Misdemeanor Driving While License Revoked. 

 

Speas appeared before Magistrate J. Hollar who issued a 750,000.00 secured bond on these charges.


BOND: 750,000.00 DOLLARS SECURED BOND.

 

Criminal history: Misdemeanor Possession of Stolen Goods, Misdemeanor Larceny, Misdemeanor Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance, Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana, Two Counts of Misdemeanor Resisting a Public Officer, Two Counts of Second Degree Trespassing, Flee to Elude Arrest in a Motor Vehicle, Two Counts of Felony Possession of Cocaine, Driving While License Revoked, Felony Sell or Deliver a Counterfeit Controlled Substance, DWI Level 4, Felony Conspire to Commit Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill, Felony Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance, Three Counts of  Felony Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Cocaine.
