Location of Incident: Mt.Ulla Highway at Wiggins Road, Mooresville.

Suspect(s): Jericho Lamonte White, 29 Years Old

                    Salisbury, North Carolina

Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On Friday, February 11, 2022, deputies with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team conducted a traffic stop on Mt Ulla Highway at Wiggins Road for a traffic violation. 

While speaking with the driver, Jericho Lamonte White about the traffic violation, Canine “Brandi” arrived on scene to assist with the traffic stop. Brandi alerted on the vehicle for the presence of illegal drugs. 

The deputies asked White to step out of his vehicle, and while performing a pat down on him, they felt what they believed to be a package of illegal drugs in his pants pocket. White pushed one of the deputies away, then fled on foot, running across Mt Ulla Highway into oncoming traffic. 

Deputies along with Canine Brandi gave chase following White into a nearby field. While running after White, the deputies witnessed him remove an object from the pocket they felt originally, and he then threw the object while we continued to run.

A short distance late, deputies, and Brandi caught White. He was then taken into custody.

Deputies then searched the area where White had run and located 5.4 grams of “Crack” Cocaine scattered on the ground along with items of drug paraphernalia.

White was then transported to the Iredell County Detention Center where he was charged with: Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Cocaine, Felony Maintain a Vehicle for the Use or Sale of a Controlled Substance, Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana, Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana, Two Counts of Misdemeanor Assault on a Government Official, Misdemeanor Resisting a Public Officer, Misdemeanor Injury to Property, and Driving While License Revoked. White appeared before Magistrate M. Russell who issued him a 10,000.00 dollar secured bond on these charges.
