[ARCHIVED] Suspect arrested for assault inflicting serious injury

Sheriff Darren Campbell stated
On August 25 Deputies Justin Betts and Weston Parks responded to 137 Vandenbrook Lane for an assault. When the deputies arrived on the scene they were advised that the victim had already been transported to Lake Normal regional medical center by EMS. Deputies then went to the hospital where they spoke to the victim Timothy Medlin about the assault that took place.
Mr. Medlin who had a broken nose and two broken ribs, stated that he was walking down Vandenbrook Lane when he was confronted and assaulted by Scott Furney. After further investigation warrants were obtained by Deputies for Mr. Furney, for assault inflicting serious bodily injury. Deputies located and arrested Mr. Furney in the early morning hours of August 26th, and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center where he received a secured bond of $5,000.00 for the listed charge.
