 Suspect(s): Christopher Dean Owens, 36 Years Old

Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On Tuesday, August 31, 2021, Sergeant W. Line of the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team responded to a call on Pisgah Church Road in reference to suspicious people walking around an abandon residence. 

Sgt. Line arrived on scene within moments of the initial radio dispatch. He located a male and female sitting in a white passenger car which was backed in the driveway of the residence. 

Sergeant Line made contact with the male suspect who was identified as, Christopher Dean Owens. Owens said he nor the female knew who owned the property, and they were just out walking around the residence. While speaking with Owens, Sgt. Line observed marijuana in plain view inside the vehicle. The female driver was identified as Erin Hamlin from Elkin.

Sgt. Line and Deputy C. Caul conducted a search of the vehicle. The search located, 14.95 grams of Methamphetamine, Marijuana and items of drug paraphernalia.

Owens was arrested on scene and taken to the Iredell County Detention Center where he was charged with: Felony Possession with Intent to Sell, or Deliver Methamphetamine, Felony Possession of Methamphetamine, Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana, and two counts of Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Owens appeared Magistrate D. Chambers who issued a 30,000.00 dollars secured bond on these charges.
