[ARCHIVED] Albemarle man charged with Felony Obtaining Property by False Pretense

Offense(s)/Charge(s): Felony Obtaining Property by False Pretense.

 Location of Incident: Pear Tree Road Troutman, North Carolina.

 Suspect(s): Harry Michael Fahy, 25 Years Old

Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On Saturday, September 26, 2020, the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office received a report in reference to an online scam which utilized the suspect posting an advertisement on Facebook Marketplace pretending to sell an item.

 Detective C. Scannella with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Economics Crime Unit was assigned to investigate the allegation.   After interviewing the victim, several witnesses, and detectives from South Carolina, Detective Scannella was able to verify information on the suspect being responsible for scamming individuals.

 Through information received through the investigation, Detective Scannella was able to obtain various records from a search warrant sent to an internet provider which yielded additional information.

 Based on all of the evidence Detective Scannella was able to charge Harry Michael Fahy with One Count of Felony Obtaining Property by False Pretense. Harry Michael Fahy was already incarcerated in the Moore County Detention Center. He was served with the felony charge there and received a 20,000 dollar secured bond for all of his charges.

Criminal history: Misdemeanor Possession of Stolen Goods, Misdemeanor Assault, Misdemeanor Larceny, Felony Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Four Counts of Misdemeanor Assault on a Female, Misdemeanor Assault Inflicting Serious Injury, Misdemeanor Second Degree Trespassing, Misdemeanor Injury to Personal Property, Misdemeanor First Degree Trespassing.

Currently on Probation for Two Counts of Assault on a Female, Damage to Property, and Assault Inflicting Serious Bodily Injury.

Verified member of the Aryan Brotherhood Gang by the North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections.
