[ARCHIVED] Two Taylorsville residents charged with multiple felony drug crimes

Date/Time of Offense: Friday, May 14, 2021.

                                      Misdemeanor Possession of Schedule Buprenorphine Hydrochloride 

                                      Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

 Location of Incident: West Garner Bagnal Boulevard at Shelton Avenue, Statesville.

 Suspect(s): Harold Troy Little, 41 Years Old

Sheriff Darren Campbell: On Friday, May 14, 2021, Sergeant L.J. Hayes with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Interstate Criminal Enforcement (ICE) Team was assisting the Statesville Police Department with a special assignment. Sergeant Hayes conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of West Garner Bagnal Boulevard and Shelton Avenue for a traffic violation. 

 Sgt. Hayes approached the driver, Harold Troy Little, and told him the reason for the stop. While speaking with Little, and then Ashley Brooks Church, the passenger, Hayes became suspicious of ongoing illegal activity. 

 Sergeant Hayes requested Deputy M. Hicks to respond to assist with the stop. When Deputy Hicks deployed his canine, “Bosco” to walk around the vehicle. Bosco gave a positive indication for the presence of illegal drugs.

 The deputies then searched the vehicle, where they located: 33.2 Grams of Crystal Methamphetamine which was packaged in a manner consistent with individual sales, three dosage units of Buprenorphine Hydrochloride and items of drug paraphernalia.

Little and Church were arrested on scene, then taken to the Iredell County Detention Center.

 Harold Troy Little was charged with: Felony Trafficking Methamphetamine by Possession, Felony Trafficking Methamphetamine by Transport, Felony Possession with Intent to Sale or Deliver Methamphetamine, Felony Maintain a Vehicle for the Sale or Use of Controlled Substance, Misdemeanor Possession of a Schedule III Controlled Substance (Buprenorphine Hydrochloride), and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Magistrate P. Tutterrow issued Little a 350,000.00 dollar secured bond on these charges. 

 Ashley Brooks Church was charged with: Felony Possession of Methamphetamine, Misdemeanor Possession of a Schedule III Controlled Substance (Buprenorphine Hydrochloride), and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Church appeared before Magistrate Callejas who issued 7,500.00 dollars secured bond on these charges.

 350,000.00 DOLLARS SECURED BOND.

 Criminal history: Two Counts of DWI Level 5, Misdemeanor Criminal Trespass, Felony Attempted Trafficking in Opium or Heroin.

 Currently on Probation for the Felony Attempted Trafficking of Opium or Heroin.

Taylorsville, North Carolina 28681

7,500.00 DOLLAR SECURED BOND.

Criminal history: Felony Larceny, Three Counts of Misdemeanor Larceny, Three Counts of Misdemeanor Second Degree Trespassing, Two Counts of Misdemeanor Shoplifting.

Currently on Probation for Larceny.
