[ARCHIVED] Two Statesville residents charged with multiple felony crimes

Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On Friday, April 2, 2021 Patrol Deputies with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office responded to 112 Original Drive in Western Iredell County in reference to a domestic disturbance which had been called in. While responding to this call, the deputies received additional information about shots being fired at the location.

 Soon after arriving on scene, Deputies C.E. Levan, A.E. Frye, and R.E. Clay, determined Steven Allen Goins had discharged a firearm into Keri Harwell’s vehicle. The deputies approached the residence and entered it looking for Goins and located him near a bedroom of the home.

 Additional information and statements were obtained. Detective C James of the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Special Victim’s Unit responded to the scene to assist with the investigations.

 During the investigation, Detective James verified Goins is a convicted felon, and had committed additional criminal acts during this incident. A search warrant for the residence was obtained and executed. The search located three firearms, methamphetamine, along with paraphernalia related to the sale of methamphetamine. 

 Based on the evidence collected during this investigation, Steven Allen Goins and Keri Alise Harwell were arrested and taken to the Iredell County Detention Center.

 Steven Allen Goins was charged with: First Degree Kidnapping, Felony Discharge a Firearm into Occupied Property, Felony Assault with A Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill, and Assault on a Female. Due to these charges being of a domestic violence related nature, Goins received No Bond on these. Goins was also charged with: Three Counts of Felony Possession of Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Methamphetamine, and Felony Maintain a Dwelling for the Sale or Use of a Controlled Substance. Magistrate H. Callejas issued Goins a 50,000.00 dollars secured bond on these charges. 

 Keri Alise Harwell was charged with: Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Methamphetamine, and Felony Maintain a Dwelling for the Sale or Use of a Controlled Substance. Harwell appeared before Magistrate H. Callejas who issued a 7,500.00 dollars secured bond.

 NO BOND with additional 50,000.00 DOLLARS SECURED BOND.

Criminal history: Three Counts of Driving While License Revoked, Misdemeanor Assault on a Female, Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Chagres from West Virginia which include Grand Larceny and Possession of a Stolen Vehicle.

Statesville, North Carolina 28625

7,500.00 DOLLARS SECURED BOND.

Criminal history: Two Counts of No Operators License, Driving While License Revoked, Misdemeanor Larceny, Misdemeanor Possession of Schedule IV Controlled Substance, Two Counts of Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor Larceny, Misdemeanor Possession of Stolen Property.
