[ARCHIVED] Troutman charged with several felony breaking and entering charges.

Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: Since Saturday, March 13, 2021 the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office had received several reports about outbuildings and construction sites on the western side of Iredell County having been broken into, and numerous tools and other items being taken. Detectives were able to determine a light colored jeep was the suspect vehicle. Several leads were followed up on while investigating these incidents.

On Saturday, March 20, 2021, a suspect was attempting to gain entry to a building located at 915 Old Mountain Road. The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office was notified and deputies responded to the area. When the responding deputies arrived they spoke with two witnesses, who described the suspect as driving a Jeep Wrangler which was light silver in color. They had been able to obtain a license plate number from the suspect vehicle. A broadcast of the suspect’s vehicle description was given out as the deputies patrolled in the area attempting to locate the Jeep.

The suspect vehicle was located and stopped by deputies. The driver was identified as Timothy Shane Coley. Coley was arrested on driving related offences, and transported to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office. 

Detectives D.C. Wyatt and A.S. Teague interviewed Coley about the breaking and entering’s. Based on the evidence and statements taken during this investigation, the detectives were able to apply for and receive felony arrest warrants against Coley.

Coley was brought to the Iredell County Detention Center where he was served with his arrest warrants and placed under a 25,000.00 dollars secured bond.

Detective Wyatt executed a search warrant on Coley’s residence located at 105 Spring Oaks Drive in Troutman. Additional items which had been reported stolen were located and seized.

Additional charged are anticipated as this investigation continues.

 Criminal history: Two Counts of Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana, Misdemeanor Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Misdemeanor Larceny.
