[ARCHIVED] Mooresville man charged with Felony Statutory Rape of a Child


Sheriff Campbell stated: On Friday, February 19th 2021, the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call in reference to an alleged statutory rape. One the report was filed, it was assigned to Detective Sergeant Katie Campbell with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit.

 As part of the investigation, the victim was interviewed at the Dove House Children’s Advocacy Center. Based on evidence, and statements gathered during the investigation, Detective Sergeant Campbell was able to receive six felony arrest warrants on the suspect in this case, Caleb Lee Marrero.

 On Monday, March 1, 2021 Caleb Lee Marrero was arrested and taken to the Iredell County Detention Center where he was served with: three counts of Felony Statutory Rape of a Child Less than 15 years old by an adult, and three counts of Felony Statutory Sex Offense with a Minor less than 15 Years Old by an Adult. 

 Caleb Lee Marrero appeared before Magistrate R. Imes who issued a 75,000.00 dollar secure bond on these charges.
