[ARCHIVED] Statesville man charged with felony identity theft and other charges

Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On Friday, December 14, 2020, a report was filed with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Financial Crimes Unit in reference to the theft of medication, and a financial transaction card. 

This case was assigned to Detective Sergeant D. Icard. Through financial records which were gathered as part of this investigation, evidence was found which indicated the card was used three times, resulting a total loss of 644.50. The suspect, was also positively identified as Kenneth David Colton McCleese. 

Based upon this evidence, Detective Sergeant Icard was able to obtain felony arrest warrants on McCleese for: Misdemeanor Larceny, Felony Larceny of Financial Transaction Card, Felony Financial Card Fraud, and Felony Identity Theft.

On Wednesday, December 30, 2020, McCleese was arrested and taken to the Iredell County Detention Center where he was served with the warrants. Magistrate P. Tutterrow issued a 7,500.00 dollar secured bond on these charges.

 Criminal history: Misdemeanor Breaking and Entering, Two Counts of Misdemeanor Larceny, Misdemeanor Second Degree Trespassing, Misdemeanor Possession of Schedule IV Controlled Substance, and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
