Sheriff Darren Campbell stated:
On January 17, 2015 Bryan Ashley Blansett was charged with Assault on a Female. These charges are still pending in court against Blansett.
On August 6, 2015 the victim of this Assault met with Det. Sgt. Katie Harwell with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Special Victim’s Unit on an unrelated matter. After speaking with the victim, Det. Harwell received additional information that was not available at the time the original charges were filed against Blansett in January. This information led Det. Harwell to obtain additional charges against Blansett for Assault Inflicting Serious Injury and Felony Habitual Misdemeanor Assault.
Blansett was arrested on these charges on August 11, 2015 and placed in the Iredell County Detention Center under a $15,000 bond, pending his court appearance.
