Sheriff Darren Campbell stated on August 10th, 2015 Deputy Craig Bess went to 157 Hawks Prey Dr. Mooresville, N.C. 28115 to do a compliance check on registered sex offender Zachary Paul Greene. Deputy Bess received a statement from one of the neighbors stating that Greene had not been living at his registered address. Deputy Bess gained information that Greene was living at 123 Charleston Dr. Mooresville, N.C. 28117.
Deputy Bess determined that Greene was in fact living at this address and had not changed his address with the Sheriff’s Office. Bess also discovered the new address was located within one thousand feet of a preschool and daycare.
Deputy Bess obtained charges for failure to notify change of address as a sex offender, sex offender living within one thousand feet of preschool/daycare, and sex offender on child premises. Greene was arrested and placed in the Iredell County Detention Center under a $25,000 bond.
