The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office, Teen Academy is a program designed by Sheriff Darren Campbell. This program is intended to engage teenagers, and help them learn how to handle issues they deal with every day. Teenagers face many challenges such as the transitioning from Middle School to High School, peer pressure, social media, texting, bullying and drugs just to name a few. During this program, the students will be shown how to deal with these and many other issues. We provide positive adult role models along with real life learning experiences to teach them alternative way to deal with complex social issues. We mix practical hands on demonstrations with a teenager focused message in order to make learning fun. Along the way the students, and law enforcement officers get to make friendships which foster lasting relationships as a result of the experience.
2023 Teen Academy registration is now CLOSED.
