To: All Iredell Sheriff’s Office Youth Athletic League Volleyball participants

The spread of the Corona Virus has led to the cancellation or postponement of major sporting events throughout the United States. After careful consideration, we have decided to cancel the Sheriff’s Office Youth Athletic League Volleyball season out of an abundance of caution.

Since the Iredell-Statesville School system has suspended all athletic activities at school facilities, we will not have access to the gym facilities necessary to hold practices, and games. Due to the short length of our volleyball season, rescheduling or postponing the season is not an option due to school gym facilities will be in use for other sports.

This year marked the highest enrollment in our program since it began, and we sincerely regret having to make this tough decision. The Sheriff’s Office Volleyball League is very important to us, and we look forward to mentoring our youth every year; however, our highest priority is the safety of you, the citizens.

We look forward to working with our youth next year, and encourage everyone to stay safe and healthy as we work through this time.
